Why we are teleporting preys (only preys, not captive or other bottom club members) to the cages. There are at least 2 reasons.
We want to return old GS style. Some times ago GS was one of places where RP was at some level. In the GS guests couldn't play with guests - only with club members. So guests (both visitors and preys) had to wait in the guest area till some one invite them to play.
What do we have now - the some kind of bondage ranch but with the titler. We lost some wardens due this and lost the GS idea. We have preys loafing around a jumping from device to device. We have visitors which stay in silence for half hour ... Is it good - definitely not.
So the first reason - we want to give the reason and meaning for club membership. Preys should want to be captives, so they will have to improve RP. Or they will stay in the cages.
The second reason - We don't want to see the preys which are running for free around the Sim. Moreover - we can control how they obey to the Sim rules. You can't leave the cage without rules violation, and I saw yesterday many of them, leaving the cages with farsit. Is it RP?
If the prey can't RP her behavior in the cage, can't attract the attention of free top player ... she/he should learn, isn't it? The SL is really full of av which are standing and waiting for something, r with players which do not know what to say after standart "greetings sir", and I'm not dreaming for the GS filled by players like this.
So we returned waiting rooms for preys, and I'm really thinking about return for waiting room for visitors.
Obviously these changes are good for GSH club and the club members, since GSH Captives are able to choose whether will they arrive in a cage or outside.
ReplyDeleteThere is not much a prey or a captive can do outside of their cage while there is no client to take them.
Besides, the hunt system is still there, so preys and captives can spend their time outside of the GSH island region until a client comes to hunt for them and bring back to the club for a scene.
Also, if your goal is just to walk around, you can switch back to an OOC Guest and have your ways around the island.

ReplyDeleteI misunderstood. I thought that all bottoms, club members or not, were expected to remain caged until they were "selected". My concern was that those of us who enjoy the role play of greeting and interacting would be caged and simply stuck there until some random guest grabbed us.
The explanation above makes the rule more clear. Thank you

ReplyDeleteAlright, alright, maybe the heady afterglow of some wonderful rp at GnS today makes me overly generous of praise..... Nonetheless, I think this might be the finest Club House I've been part of yet. Superb balance of what had been working and has been visually appealing about the island Club House setting with what worked of Club House's of the past. I am especially happy to see the old admission-by-rp-with-members restriction back in place. And the new welcome area for new Prey is grand! :D
ReplyDeleteAs a new guest prey. i have to say...i love sitting in the cage waiting for someone...usually. Yes, it is boring if there is no one around, but that just gives me a chance to catch up on my e-mail. i would like to ask that guest doms be allowed up use us, since i have seen very, very few members lurking around, but several guests that are happy to use me, and they have all been very good.
ReplyDeleteThe succuess of the sim is directly related to the quality of prey and captives availabe on the island. Also it is crucial that a visiting guest becomes almost immediately engaged in role play. I think that anything done to encourage enthusiastic play by prey and captives are important and anything done to front load the expeirnece of an newly arriving guest is critical to the growth of the sim. By the way...any thought given to activities? For example a MEGA Hunt where potential guests are invited and on signal a number of prey are released to the outside. The guest who returns the most prey in a given time is given a prize (lindens or a set number of days for a prey to serve him/her). Just an idea.
