I've had some complaints lately about role play in the sim for a variety of reasons, some of them appropriate others not so much so. A few things I would like to point out about this sim are as follows:
1) if you have to be afk or take care of unexpected rl issues, let your partner know before you go. If it's extended, please be polite and mark yourself away and indicate to others what's happening.
2) this is a prison based sim, not gor and not D/s. Please remember the prisoners are not slaves/subs in the typical sense. All prey/captives/slaves are welcome to rp disobedient as long as it is appropriate and fits with the sim's theme. The expectation that they "are not submissive enough" is not fitting with this sim and while you can punish, torture and abuse them for that, suggesting they are "wrong" in an ooc sense is not appropriate.
3) Lately we've had a rash of IM'rs telling people that they aren't rping correctly with some set of other rp rules in mind from other sims. We do not follow any of those rules. The expectation that your partner knows them or will give you an opportunity to escape every rp'd action is ridiculous and has never been the type of rp expected at gns. In fact, the rp here is top generated around the sim's theme and we do expect them to have a bit of favor in the rp scenes. We really want everyone to have fun more than have a strict set of guidelines about individual rp style.
If you have a problem with your rp partner, politely IM them first explaining to them what your expectation is (keeping the above in mind). Please also remember that not everyone fits for everyone else. Sometimes it is not a matter of "right" or "wrong" but merely a bad match. When that happens please don't create conflict by IMing someone that's obviously a welcomed member of the sim to tell them they are "wrong". They aren't.
IF it is a problem with unrealistic or really bad rp quality and working it out with your rp partner doesn't or wouldn't work, notecard it and send it to the supervisors and/or Shani or Iezious.
4) please try to limit your rp posts to one post and wait for the response of your partner...this complaint is common and easily fixed. Remember, we cannot see when you are still typing and are already typing our next post when you change the scene with another.
